Practice makes perfect! This famous saying is true in developing your winning golf technique as it is in other sports events. This article is particularly devoted to the basics of a good golf grip.

The golf grip provides your basic physical contact and control of the golf club. The powerful kind of golf grip then has to be a spontaneous expression of your own personal style and strength.

Depending on your personality, you may do the golf grip like Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus using the “interlocking grip” style with the little finger of your right hand interlocking with your left hand’s index finger. The other types are called the “vardon grip” considered as a low handicap grip and the “baseball grip” which is more suited for junior players.

There are a few factors that affect the power of your golf grip technique. The best grip technique is where you have a good balance of strength coming from both of your hands. You use this grip style when you are aiming for your target at a distance.

When you are hooking or topping many shots, you use the dominant left hand strong grip where you are able to see more of your left hand knuckles. For slicing and blocking shots to the right, you use the dominant right hand strong grip where it’s more of your right hand knuckles that are visible.
