Golf newsletters are very informative publications regularly distributed via email or through snail mail. With the kind of technology that we have, it is common to find newsletters being sent through emails. It has become more accessible to more people since it is readily available through the World Wide Web.

A golf newsletter tackles different areas in the sport of golf. It gives a reader tips on how to improve particular golfing skills and it tells about the newest golfing equipment available in the market.

It also tells about golfing icons, their lives and how they succeeded in this field. Additionally, the newsletter is used to spread news about a certain event in a particular area. Golf enthusiasts find this very useful because they are informed about upcoming affairs they can join in.

One can even find a piece of writing about unusual topics or a page dedicated to providing information about untouched areas of golf.

The information regarding various fields of golf that are put into writing catches the interest of long time and first time players. Because it offers information not only about a particular topic, it prevents readers from feeling bored. As an accountant who experiences constant stress from work, this is a good form of relaxation during your breaktime.

Golf Lessons: Putting the Golf Ball

March 7, 2011 By Leave a Comment

The simplest part of the game of golf is on how to put the ball into place. We call it putting.  The easiest part of the game and there is no hazard in doing it. This needs proper alignment for correct aiming and basically involves a continuing stroke with the hands, arms and shoulders and no body movement is required, just the uniform swinging of the three (the hands, the arms and the shoulders) back and forth with uniform movements. Repeat and practice until it is mastered. Do it every time on the putting green. Remember, do not hit the ball as hard as you can, it is just a short mild putt and the aim is just right there.

It is important to understand that putting is a mechanical movement and focus on this mechanical effort not on the target, which is the cup. This mechanics can be improved on the practice green. Coordination of the ergonomics while on the practice. Breathing is important with the movement and breath-in while in the process of doing the stroke.

Mind conditioning plays an important role while practicing the putting stroke and not the tee shot which requires much pressure. By this playing with the head would mean that it can be understandable that the putt stroke is different from a tee shot. Stroking Differs from hitting. This is a conditioning technique every golfer must take into consideration.

One good example and parallelism to this exercise is that tossing a ball to a child. With this in mind, the feeling on how soft or mild thrust would possibly require in order for the child to catch the ball from a certain distance. Same is true in putting stroke. Apply this natural feeling when stroking.  Anticipating the roll over effect of the ball upon applying power from a certain distance.  Anyway it is just a three foot putt.

In addressing the golf ball the mindset of the player should be focused. Study the contours and the grain direction by observing the green

All your thinking should take place prior to you addressing the golf ball. As you walk to the green, notice the contours and the grain direction.  Upon marking the golf ball look behind from the ball towards the hole or the cup and then look to the opposite way on the other side of the cup. Make some calculation on the line where the ball would start to roll. Then pick an imaginary spot between the cup and the ball to where ball is wanted to roll over. Address the ball in a in a gentle manner and focus on the ball and “feel” how the ball roll over toward the cup.

Tip before stroking the putt, the thinking of loosening the grip will remove the tension in the hands and arms and if not attended, they would control the club face by twisting it off course towards the target. Another tip is that press your hands forward a bit toward the hole, keep your lower body still and then allow a smooth short back stroke and a smooth forward stroke to happen. As if an artist is applying a smooth brush stroke. Feel the golf ball just happened to get in the way of your natural putting stroke.
